Review - ShadowShifter by Melissa D. Ellis

Title: ShadowShifter
Author: Melissa D. Ellis
Release date: 15th December 2010
Published by: CreateSpace (temporarily out of print due to NEW book deal)

Blurb: With an uncontrollable temper and a flare for the dramatics, sixteen-year-old Julie Taylor has landed herself in summer school after a very publicly humiliating outburst. There, she meets her striking but mysterious next door neighbor, Broderick Cooper, and despite her determination to keep her distance, she cannot deny the tenacious draw she feels toward him. More and more, their paths continue to cross until they become completely entwined with one another.

Julie swiftly becomes consumed not only in Broderick's love, but with his supernatural gifts as well - just as an unprecedented evil punches its way into their quiet little town, bringing with it Hell on Earth! One close brush with danger and a terrorizing chain of events begin to unfold, forever changing Julie's life as it opens her eyes to a sinister world that walks within her own...

Waiting in the darkest of shadows - evil incarnate, legendary as fairy tales.

My Rating:    A MUST READ!!

My ReviewWhen I first recieved this book in the mail for review, I was a little apprehensive cause the book has over 500 pages, but after only reading a few pages my fears were put to rest. All I can say is WOW!!

With Melissa's creative writing style she's brought us such an awe-inspiring story. Her descriptions are so detailed you feel like your there seeing it all unfold before your very eyes. The suspense will have you gripping the edge of your seat. Giddy head over heels love, it'll have you floating on air along with the characters. And loads of danger, enough to keep you glued to every page till the very end. And leaves you wanting more.

Each individual character brings their own unique quality to the story. Never a dull moment, so many twists and turns that you'll never see coming. I seriously devoured this book, I just couldn't put it down. It has to be in my top 5 best books I've read in 2011.
I recommend this book to anyone and everyone, it's one that'll have you still thinking about it days after your finished reading it. It's so worth the 5 stars. I'm dying to get my hands on book 2 Lyncanthrope.

  1. It tickles me pink (or blood red - he, he) to read such a wonderful review of my book, ShadowShifter! I am currently tying up ends on book #2, which is scheduled to be released in late 2012 - after book #1 gets RE-published. :)

I will make this offer only for Sassy Book Lover's followers, just to keep the buzz flowing until ShadowShifter's OFFICIAL launch by Passionate Writer Publishing - I will sell the original self-published edition (the same one that was reviewed) until December 31st of 2011... *in secret*. ;-)
The book is $20 and payments can be sent via paypal to melissa@melissaellismusic.com. Be sure to leave your address so it can be shipped to you.
In the meantime, I will continue writing the ShadowShifter series to the best of my ability. And in early 2012, I will be doing a book blog tour to really promote ShadowShifter - giveaways, swag, the works!

And it WILL be available on all ebook readers.

Thanks to Sassy Book Lovers for their continued to support and encouragement. When the book launches officially, you girls will definitely get preferential treatment from me!!
